Een getalenteerde teppan chef maakt er voor de ogen van de gasten een echte show van. Teppanyaki werd tijdens de Olympische Spelen van 1964 ge\u00efntroduceerd bij Hotel Okura Tokyo om vleesgerechten met Japanse ingredi\u00ebnten te laten zien. Toen Hotel Okura Amsterdam in 1971 opende kwamen er teppanyaki tafels in restaurant Yamazato. Het is het eerste en op dit moment enige teppanyaki restaurant met een Michelinster in Europa. Voor je ogen zie je hoe groenten en vleeswaren met precisie worden bereid en gepresenteerd. Executive chef en manager Tomikawa geeft zijn goedkeuring aan creatieve experimenten binnen de principes van de Japanse keuken.
